Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a long history of using wildlife-derived ingredients. However, population growth, intensifying competition for natural resources, and continued demand has now placed unprecedented pressure on wildlife, pushing some species to the brink of extinction.
To safeguard both the integrity and the future of TCM, the practice must evolve in a sustainable and ethical direction.
We therefore commit to protecting wildlife by refusing to use endangered animal products in Chinese medicine. We pledge to rely exclusively on sustainable remedies as we save lives, preserve biodiversity, and uphold the ancient standards of TCM.
As practitioners, educators, researchers, manufacturers and distributors, we commit to protecting wildlife and not using any endangered wildlife [animal] products in Chinese medicine.
As a user/consumer of TCM, I commit to refusing any endangered wildlife [animal] ingredients in my treatment.
